III

Dear readers,

“Wow… Amy! Would you just look at this ancient coffin? And the best part of it, the owner actually keeps it in his home. Ooooh… ‘Today I shall spend the night in my comfy coffin!!’ I should blog about this!” Allen joked as he examined the broken coffin.

“Al, the view of the sunset from this window is actually quite charming, don’t you think?” Amy said as she stood in front of a wide misty window.

Allen walked towards her and wrapped his hands around her. Amy leaned back on Allen’s chest as they enjoyed the sunset outside the window. The golden rays of the sun fell behind the mountains. Slowly, darkness filled the sky, and the last ray of light vanished. At that exact moment, the same second the last light from the sun was gone, a scream filled the place.

Allen and Amy turned around and looked around the place. The scream had came and gone. The place was dark. Both of them jumped in fright as they heard a loud bang from the direction where they had entered the hall. Allen gathered up his courage and walked towards the coffin. Amy stood in front of the window, and set her eyes upon the darkness in front of her.

The clouds began to disperse in the sky, revealing a full red moon. The moonlight shone in through the large window. Slowly, it lit the place up with a dim and eerie light. Amy saw Allen’s figure moving towards the coffin, but something was not right there. Allen never had long hair…

“Behind you!” Amy shouted as she dashed towards the unknown figure.

Allen turned back and saw a face he wished he’d never seen in his entire life. He could smell rotten flesh. He tripped and fell backwards, right into the coffin. There were worms in the coffin. He felt them wriggling all around him. He jumped out of the coffin and shook the worms off his clothes. Amy used a large wood nearby and hit the head of the unknown figure as hard as she could. The figure fell to the floor. She stared at the figure as it got up again.

Allen grabbed Amy’s hands. “Run for it!” Allen shouted as he pulled Amy towards the entrance of the place.

They heard a loud crashing sound, followed by Forester’s voice shouting aloud. They knew something was wrong. As they reached the entrance, a strong wind blew and the door shut with a bang in front of them. Allen slammed onto the door and twisted the knob, only to hear a clicking sound. Amy pounded hard on the door. It would not budge. Someone locked them in! They stopped trying to open the door. They had something else to worry about.

“1,” Allen counted as he let go of the knob.

“2,” They closed their eyes as they heard heavy breath close behind them.

“3…”
